As a surprise for Father's Day we created portraits of our dads and then wrote cinquain poems about them. We began with a simple circle for the portrait. We're sure you'll agree, they're a very handsome group!

What is a cinquain? It is a five line poem.
Here is the pattern we used for our poems:
Line 1 - Dad's first name
Line 2 - Two adjectives describing him
Line 3 - Three "ing" verbs naming things he does at work and home
Line 4 - Four words that tell a feeling about him
Line 5 - One word - what you call your dad
