DAZZLING DAYMARKS![]() |
![]() As we were finishing our work on our "Dazzling Daymarks," some of the children began naming their lighthouses. That gave me an idea for a great geography extension for our project. As a homework assignment, children were asked to use their imaginations to name their lighthouses and then to use authentic information to tell where they might be found in the world. In other words, the lighthouse did not have to be real, but had to be in a place where a lighthouse could be found. At school we then shared our ideas, with the children pointing out on maps where their lighthouses were located. Here's a challenge for you! On a map can YOU find all the places our lighthouses are "located"? Good luck!
