~ Visions of Sugarplums ~
When you talk about the Nutcracker, you can't help but talk about sugarplums! After all, Clara and the Nutcracker, now transformed into a Prince, travel to the Kingdom of Sweets, and who is the keeper of the Kingdom of Sweets? Well, the Sugarplum Fairy, of course! Below is a fun and easy sugarplum recipe to make with your students or children. Be careful, though, DON'T eat too many at one time!

1/2 cup of margarine (1 stick)
5 cups powdered sugar (one large package or 2 boxes)
1/4 cup whipping cream
1 teaspoon of vanilla
sugar for rolling the sugarplums

1. Cream margarine in a large mixing bowl, add sugar slowly, then the whipping cream and vanilla.

2. Mix until well blended, then form with your hands into 1/2-3/4 inch balls and roll in the powdered sugar.

3. Place on platter to set.

4. These sugarplums freeze quite well in an air-tight container. You will need to roll again in powdered sugar after refrigeration.
